ABOUT BRENDAN
Brendan joined ORP Law in 2014 after articling in the Toronto office of a large national law firm, then practicing for several years with a boutique commercial litigation firm. Brendan became a partner of ORP Law in 2017.
Brendan practices in the areas of insurance defence litigation and media law and has a broad background in corporate/commercial litigation. He represents clients in a wide range of disputes, including contractual disputes, occupiers’ and product liability matters as well as professional liability matters. Brendan further represents broadcasters, newspapers and other media organizations in the litigation of claims involving defamation and in proceedings involving sealing orders and publication bans.
Brendan has also worked in a team environment on large, complex litigation including shareholder and partnership disputes, major real estate development and property disputes, banking fraud actions involving receiverships, Mareva and Anton Piller orders and various forms of related relief.
Brendan has appeared in all levels of Court in Ontario, and before the Human Rights Tribunal, the License Appeal Tribunal, the Real Estate Council of Ontario Discipline Committee and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Brendan received his B.A. and LL.B. from the University of British Columbia in 2000 and 2005 respectively and was called to the Ontario bar in 2006.
